A 32-Page Picture Book Manuscript
Ages 2-5 • 500 WordsXena was a golden Labrador who lived in New York City. She loved sunny mornings, belly rubs, and chasing pigeons in Riverside Park.
But one morning, something was different. The air felt cold. The ground looked white.
"What's that?" asked Xena, tilting her head.
"SNOW!" called her dad. "Come on, girl! First snow of the year!"
Xena raced to the door. Her tail spun like a helicopter.
Outside, tiny white flakes floated down from the sky. Xena caught one on her nose.
"It's cold! It's soft! It's... magical!" she barked.
She zoomed around the park, leaving big paw prints behind her.
Everything smelled different—crisp and fresh and new.
Suddenly, a fluffy tail peeked out from behind a snow-covered bench.
"Xena! Wait up!" It was Biscuit—her best squirrel friend.
"Have you ever seen snow before?" asked Xena.
"Once," said Biscuit. "But it's way more fun to explore with a friend."
"Let's build a snow-dog!" said Xena.
She started digging and pushing snow with her paws.
Biscuit rolled little snowballs. Xena stacked them up.
Together, they made a body, then legs, then a tail!
"We need a face," said Xena.
Biscuit found two sticks for eyes. Xena added a stick for a nose.
"Look!" barked Xena. "It's a snow-Xena!"
The snow-dog stood proud in the park, just like a real golden Lab.
Just then, Xena's mom came walking over with hot cocoa.
"Wow! You two made something wonderful."
Xena looked at the snow-dog. Then she looked at Biscuit. Then she looked at her mom.
She realized something important.
"The best part of snow day," she said, "isn't the snow."
"It's sharing it with the ones you love."
They sipped cocoa together as the snow kept falling.
Xena's tail wagged slowly. She was happy.
And when Xena went to sleep that night, she dreamed of snow-dogs and sunshine and tomorrow.
Because the best adventures, she knew now, were the ones you share.
